Our Office
At our office we offer you quality individualized wellness care from a multi-disciplinary team. In addition to the physician, we have a chiropractor, and practitioners who specialize in pediatrics and gynecology. Most forms of PPO insurance are accepted For your convenience, there is also a full service store featuring Dr. Feder's books, homeopathic and herbal medicines.
We ask all our patients (new and returning) to PREREGISTER with Trina at (619) 583-0747 before booking an appointment. Our billing service is for all patients,whether or not there is insurance. She can also be contacted for all billing questions.
Our Staff
Lauren Feder, M.D. is a general practitioner who also specializes in homeopathic medicine for children, adults and pregnant women. In addition to homeopathy, Dr. Feder practices pediatrics, primary care medicine and performs general physical exams.. Lauren is married to Dr. Rene Haarpaintner. They have two sons, Etienne and Quentin.
Karen Jacobs, P.A. is a physician assistant who practices pediatric and primary care medicine for adults and well-woman care. She is the mother of two girls, Maya and Eliza.
Kerin Asher-Galloway, R.N. C.N.M is a nurse practitioner who focuses on women's health (including general gynecology) and primary care. She is also on staff at California Hospital as a midwife in the obstetrics and gynecology department. Kerin is the mother of Kai.
Rene Haarpaintner, DC, a gentle chiropractor for both children and adults. Rene is a former athlete from Switzerland and also treats trauma and sports injuries. Dr. Haarpaintner also has a mobile service and sees clients at work and home. He is married to Dr. Lauren.

HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE (Lauren Feder, M.D.)
A visit with Dr. Feder, a classical homeopath, is quite thorough and extensive.
Types of Homeopathic Consultations
Homeopathic Comprehensive Initial: 1 1/2 hours long for both children and adults.
Homeopathic Follow up exams: Dr. Feder sees patients for a re-exam approximately 1-2 months following the initial consultation.
Homeopathic Initial urgent sick visit: For new patients who have illness (i.e. ear infection, fever…) within the past week and are unable to wait for the initial homeopathic visit.
Payment for Homeopathic Visits
Unlike other holistic offices, we offer courtesy billing services to your insurance company. Reimbursement varies with insurance companies and your individual plan deductible. Please call office for fee schedule.

We offer well baby and child visits. We also have thimerosal (mercury) free vaccines for families who choose to vaccinate. Dr. Feder is available for consultation to interview the practice for expectant parents, and also vaccination safety appointments. Children with chronic conditions respond well to homeopathic treatment. Consider a homeopathic consultatoin for ongoing complaints. (see homeopathic consultations above)

Vaccine Consultation (Lauren Feder, M.D.)
Nowadays, many new parents have a lot of questions concerning vaccinations, and an in-depth discussion about the shots usually requires more time than allotted at the well baby visit. In our office we suggest three ways to become more informed.
-Read the current vaccine information found on the web and in books including Dr. Feder’s book, The Parents’ Concise Guide to Childhood Vaccinations.
-Attend a vaccine workshops given by Dr. Feder. See Vaccine Workshops for upcoming dates.
-Vaccination Consultation: Schedule a consultation with Dr. Feder to discuss the shots in detail, including selecting a safe shot strategy for your child if desired.

EXPECTANT PARENTS INFORMATION
Hospital Birth:
If you are having a hospital birth, the pediatrician on-call will examine your newborn. Dr. Feder does not see patients at the hospital. If you are using our pediatric services, please contact the office after birth to schedule a newborn visit the first week. We offer oral Vitamin K if desired.
Home Birth and Birth Center Delivery
Please call the office after birth to schedule a newborn visit within 2-3 days. We offer oral Vitamin K and the PKU/Newborn screening if desired. Free hearing tests are available at the John Tracy Clinic. Call (213) 748-5481 for an appointment.
Pediatric Well Baby Visits
Our well baby visits begin within the first few days following birth. We want meet your little one, perform a physical exam and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Subsequent visits in the first year are scheduled at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2, 4, 6 ,9 and 12 months.
Breastfeeding
When possible, breastfeeding exclusively is optimal for baby and mother. Learning about breastfeeding is helpful before you give birth. Consider having a contact number of a lactation consultant available in case of need. There are many excellent resources.
Vaccinations
Our office is “vaccine-friendly” which means we offer separated thimerosal free (mercury free) shots for parents who choose to vaccinate. For more information on vaccines, go to Dr. Feder’s books and/or her workshops, which are listed on the website. Dr. Feder is also available for immunization consultation as well.
Natural Medicine Store
For your convenience we offer a large selection of homeopathic medicines and other natural products in the office and online (www.drfeder.com). These include Dr. Feder’s books, natural cold/flu medicines, healing salves for moms (episiotomy, c/section scar, breast) and babies.
Homeopathy for Birth and Beyond
Dr. Feder is also available for a pre-natal consultation for easier childbirth and post-partum remedies, as well as for the traditional constitutional visit to address complaints and strengthen the body. Homeopathy is used for both children and adults.
GYNECOLOGY
Kerin Asher-Galloway, R.N. C.N.M is a nurse practitioner and midwife who focuses on women's health (including general gynecology) and primary care. In addition to working at our office, Kerin is co-director of the homebirth service Haven at Home and is also on staff at California Hospital as a midwife in the obstetrics and gynecology department.

The office is in the mid-Wilshire district of Los Angeles, east of La Cienega Blvd. and one block west of Crescent Heights Blvd. on the northeast corner of La Jolla Ave. There is street parking in the residential area behind the building. There are several parking lots in the vicinity. We do not validate for parking.

Call Schedule
During the weekend and on holidays, Dr. Feder is on call until 5 pm* Please leave a message on the service before 5 pm Urgent calls will be returned.
*Call schedule is subject to change during holidays. This would be explained on the voice mail service.
Emergencies
If a condition arises that is urgent or an emergency, always seek immediate medical attention at your nearest emergency room (or dial 911).
Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule your appointment, kindly notify the office 24 hours in advance. There is a $25 fee for missed appointments.
